Increasing and Decreasing (Creating Shape in your Knit)

 

The process of increasing and decreasing creates the variation of shapes in the knitted piece while on the knitting board.  By adding or reducing the amount of stitches, the knitted piece can be rounded and made wider, and shaped and reduced in width.
