28" Heavy Duty, Regular Gauge, Knitting Board
Heavy duty boards are the same kiln dried hardwood, but with a flat knitting surface rather than the recessed surface of our small gauge boards. The steel ball tipped pins are now thicker and a full 1" above the knitting surface. They are spaced 1/2" apart, center to center, and the bolts are 4" long. This board has 50 pins on each board for a total of 50 double stitches. New wing nuts have replaced the small nut for easier adjustment to the spacers. It weighs just under 3 lbs and is 29" long overall.
Working with your thick rug yarns and bulky wools has never been so easy. This new board knits at a larger gauge than the small gauge boards, so be sure to check gauge before using patterns designed for the small gauge boards. Board includes (1) knit hook, instructions, (1) pattern for a floor rug and (1) pattern for an afghan. |
