Figure 8 Cast On

Creates a much looser edging than the Stockinette Cast On. This method of cast on requires only one pass of the pins, as you will wrap both pins of each stitch at same time covering all sts being used.

Start at left end of board at your first stitch to be used and place the slip knot on the top pin. Wrap the opposite pin by weaving in a figure 8 pattern, repeat around same pins again. Then wrap the next 2 pegs with figure 8. Continue down loom with this process until all pegs have 2 loops on them. Hook bottom loop over top loop, on both sides of the knitting board. You are now ready to begin your pattern stitches.
